I am just back from the AAOMS meeting here in Boston and what a meeting it was! It was so nice to catch up with old friends and make some new ones as well. My team also enjoyed meeting and checking in with some of our trusted vendors and developing new relationships. I can’t do what I do without a support system and without other experts in the field. My
heart is full…thank you to all of our clients (current, new and former) that came by for a conversation and of course the hugs! We even captured some of the AAOMS meeting highlights on our Facebook page - be sure to check them out!
Well…time to get back at it now. Can you believe October 1st is next week? You all know what that means from a coding world…new and updated ICD-10 codes will be effective as October 1st. There are a few new codes that are OMS specific that you will surely want to make note of:
Z86.003 Personal history of in-situ neoplasm of oral cavity, esophagus, and stomach.
The appropriate 7th character is to be added to each code from category S02:
S02.121X Fracture of orbital roof, right side
S02.122X Fracture of orbital roof, left side
S02.129X Fracture of orbital roof, unspecified side
S02.831 Fracture of medial orbital wall, right side
S02.832 Fracture of medial orbital wall, left side
S02.839 Fracture of medial orbital wall,
unspecified side
CDT updates will be coming in January 2020 and I will update you next month on those changes.
Until next time, Keep Calm and Code On
