Working from home today during the first snow storm of the season here in New England; changes of seasons and thoughts of the new year as I look at the spectacular view outside my window. This is always a time of reflection for me on all the wonderful experiences and memories from the past year and a time to dream big and plan for 2020. I hope
you are able to take some time to do the same.
As we think about 2020 and preparing for upcoming coding changes I thought I would share some of the codes for 2020 that may impact your practice:
CDT
D7922 placement of intra-socket biological dressing to aid in hemostasis or clot stabilization, per site.
CPT
99421 Online digital evaluation and management service, for an established patient, for up to 7 days, cumulative time during the 7 days, 5-10 minutes.
99422 .... 11-20 minutes.
99423 .... 21 or more minutes.
15773 Grafting of autologous fat harvesting by liposuction technique to face, eyelids, mouth, neck, ears, orbits, genitalia, hands and/or feet; 25 cc or less injectate.
15774 .... Each additional 25 cc injectate or part thereof (list separately in addition to code for primary procedure).
Along with some new codes there are some other changes happening in 2020. Aetna sent out notification earlier this week that as of February 1st Aetna Dental Access patients will be considered in network with Ameritas. If you are contracted with either of these plans you will want to check in with the carrier to see how these changes
may impact your practice.
